Since I know some of you on here like them.  Check their website/blog.  They're done.

That's bad news. I saw them live in 2007, they were a great band.

Never saw them and am kind of bummed I didn't get to.  I love their new album.  I know alot of people didn't like it, at least that I've talked to.  Hopefully they'll do some new stuff with older projects like Old Man Gloom, but I don't have super high hopes for that.

Kind of has nothing to do with this, but I love Hydrahead Records.  It's my dream label.  Thanks Aaron Turner.

Just hope they don't cut into The Melvins set because of this when I see them. I've seen them more than once and while they were good I think overall they we're pretty boring. I also don't like their new record at all, hopefully they play some older material. Meanwhile I love the last 3 records The Melvins have done and have never seen them live before. If their set is shortened I will firebomb the ISIS van.

I like the Melvins, don't get me wrong, but with the way they have been sounding lately I'd much rather see Isis over them. Maybe it's just a personal thing.  Let the flaming commense.

ISIS was a complete SNOOZEfest last night.
But since The Melvins played earlier both drummers were right up front in between Buzzo and the bassist Big Business dude. They played basically all brand new stuff but they sounded completely awesome.

This is why I don't care about the Melvins. Plus their $35 door charge when they played here.

melvins were awesome. isis was so boring, every song they played i just kept hoping was their last, but it went on and on....  atleast i got to see the melvins right up front, i was right between the 2 drum sets and i even got to talk to buzz after the show.  my ears are still recovering though.
grimniggzy, did you catch the bassist's monolith cabs or the fact he was using tri-amplification?

Yeah i'm a bass gear nerd more than anything and I was more on his side.
So, he had 2 GK heads, some crate combo and a monolith 2x15 right?
I was pretty much right in front of Dale but since they play a little slanted I could see the Big Biz drummer better.
They really were awesome even if they played a lot of new stuff. There was no way Isis can compete with what The Melvins are dealing out on this tour. Hope they're bummed and realize they were blown off the stage each time the headlined over them.
But like I said if Melvins had closed I wouldn't have been able to see the drummers so well.

hmm, i didn't notice 2 gk heads, i saw a crate combo, one gk head, and a boogie bass head. i couldn't see what buzz was playing out of put if i recall he plays either a hiwatt or a sunn pre amp or something like that, but i liked that lit up box on top of buzz's stack that said the melvins, and he turned it around to say thanks at the end of the show.  he did the same thing back when i saw them in '03.

and those travis bean guitars were sick

Oh yeah, forgot about the Mesa 400+ head, so then he was actually running 4 amps. he had one GK head up top and another lower in a space rack sitting under the combo amp. Like I said I could see Jared's rig better than Buzzos but i did see his light up MELVINS head, it looked sweet.
