Grille cloth?

My 1970 1200S appears to be mint and all-original. Everything...screws, staple, tolex, hardware, method of construction....seems to be correct. A fellow member here questioned the grille cloth. This amp has black cloth. I have compared the stapling and the method of application to soem of the pics in the 'museum'. Everything except the color of the cloth looks 'worrect'. The way the cloth was cut, the staples, and the way the staples were applied look to be factory. The screws holding the board in the cab look to have never been molested.
Has anyone seen black cloth on a Sunn from this period?

Nope. Several years ago I bought an early 100S that came with black grill cloth, but I'm sure it's not factory issue.
Anything's possible, I suppose. Conrad would probably be the only person who could answer that question.

Thanks for the response, Ed. I may take some time this weekend to closely inspect this amp more closely and take some pictures to share. Two things make me think the cloth is original. 1)The general condition of the rest of the amp doesn't indicate a need for a change like this. The tolex, the hardware, the chassis, and the cab look as if they have been put together one time only and have 'aged' together. 2)The method of application and condition of staples and screws.
IME, close inspection will reveal clues to originality and changes. I can usually spot changed cloth, tolex and such. I'll keep an open mind. When I worked on the amp, it appeared to be unmolested inside the chassis. I know the speaker cab was opened up in San Diego in 1991. They left a dated fax of a  speaker diagram from FEnder inside.

You can usually see some of the old staple holes if its been changed.
