beta bass vs. lead - difference?

is there a difference? or is it possible to play bass through a beta lead without significant harm to the amp or speakers. i have a beta lead combo.

The amp will be fine, I'm not sure the same can be said for the speakers.

There are a couple of minor differences in the Beta Lead and Beta Bass tone controls and the Beta Bass doesn't have reverb but the two preamps are built on the same circuit boards.
