1970 sunn 1200s amp
« on: October 13, 2008, 08:39:21 am »
I have a 1970 1200s sunn amp, most of the sunns I have seen posted are have 4 knobs on the unit. The amp I have has the four knobs plus a rate, depth, and reverb knob. Question can this unit be used for both guitar and bass, where can i find a manual for the unit, in what would be the cost of a working amp.

Also, I have a sunn 4/12 guitar cabinet, is there manual and what would the worth be of the unit. Can the sunn head above be used with the speaker cabinet.

Hey man, I just got one of those recently & I think it sounds great with a bass. I'm running it into a newer sunn 4x12 & it thunders. It sounds better through my beta 15's IMO but looks so cool on that 4x12 :-D I'm not sure of the value, I paid $275 for the amp & $200 for the cab at a pawn shop & I feel pretty lucky with that  :-D Here's a link to my post about it...

hey paco, yes that's the amp I have, I run mind out of a peavy 410tx box, sounds good to me...i believe you got a deal on the cabinet and amp, thats wonderful. I believe its a versatile amp, i mean it can be used for guitar as well with all the other pots on the front and the reverb in the back.
