SUNN BADGES
« on: March 09, 2009, 08:22:46 pm »
Hello,  Does anyone know what years the different Sunn Badges were made?  Also what year did Sunn go from the pointer knobs with the numbers on the faceplate to the numbers on the knobs?

Thanks,
Johnny G.

The years are kind of fuzzy except for the mid-69 change to the (R) logo. Check this thread:

Thanks Loudthud,
I started that thread, but I was wondering what year Sunn went from the Small Standard badge to the Large "non R " badge.
I have a Spectrum II and a 200S that have the pointer knobs.  I also have a newer 200S that has the numbered knobs and wondered what year that changed.

Anyone have the answer??

Oh by the way, Thank you Loudthud for the picture of all of the badges!

Thanks,
Johnny G.

hi guys...here's my 2 cents...i have a 68 200s with the pointer knobs...and has a no trade mark logo plate...if you look close..you will see that the letters are a little fatter than the late 68 and later plates with the trade mark...my sonic single 15 cab that i bought my 200s head with has the same plate..no trade make and fatter letters....there is a time line here in the early 68 to the end of 68 that's a little fuzzy....all my other heads have the trade mark and slightly thinner letters...those heads are late 68 to 70.....hope this helps a little......smiles ..BOB from mass.

I've also got a Sonic I40 dated '68 without out the trademark logo, and a '68 200S with no trademark BUT with numbered knobs. If I was to guess, I think they probably continued using the remaining logos, faceplates, ect. until they ran out of old stock.
