Sunn 412SP
« on: June 17, 2009, 06:20:45 pm »
Hello all
I am the proud owner of a Excellent condition Sunn 412 SP. My question is what does the SP stand for. I have seen L and S, but this code is not listed. Also there is no access panel in the rear. No way to view the speakers. Once I figure out how to post a photo I will if anyone is interested to see it. It sounds incredible with my marshall 100W head. Thanks in advance. Brink47

Under the text entry window is a '+ Additional Options' button. Click the + sign and you can browse your computer to attach a file or picture. Otherwise, you can imbed HTML if you know how.

Just to answer my own question regarding the odd 412SP. The SP designation still a mystery, but the cabinet was built in 1974 with sunn transducer speaker. This I suppose was right before the Fender take over. This cabinet will be listed for sale on this site. Brink47

i've seen several cabs as well with a multitude of letters and im sure that some of them mean something, but i'd suggest to ask conrad (under the conrad section of the site).  and if the cab is from 1974 that would make it 11 years before the fender take over in 1985

Somewhere I thought I read that the SP denotes Sunn speakers inside. I have seen the SPL on the end of the number and that cabinet had speakers with SPL in their model number.
