A friend and I picked up a complete 1971 Coliseum Bass rig at a good price - each of us wanted a 118 cabinet - and are selling the head on eBay. Here is a link to the auction:

This baby is super clean and all original, even with the two-prong plug and original Sunn vinyl cover. The inspection sticker is dated May 27, 1971, and there was hardly any dust inside! Sounds great. We don't think it ever went to a shop (due in part to the two-prong plug) plus the speaker cabinets had never been opened - or the grills removed. From what we can tell, the original owner bought it new and his widow sold it (and a ton of other basses and other gear) so she could move to a smaller house. He died 2-3 years ago.
This is a relatively early Coliseum, as the first record I have of them appearing is in a product pamphlet (see catalog thread in Q&A) from the second half of 1970; the first one I ever saw was in a Kansas City music store next to the Sorado I purchased just a couple of weeks after this particular Coliseum head was inspected. Over the last several months I have sold a Coliseum Bass and a Coliseum 880, both from 1974 and in great working condtion, but neither one was as clean cosmetically as this one. It is a beaut!
