4 ohm 2x15

Hej Komrades,
picking up a 4 ohm 2x15 tomorrow and am wondering if I can rewire it to 8 ohm. IIRC it is possible to rewire an 8 ohm cab to 4 ohm but I have no clue how to switch them back.. any help?

I'm afraid 8 ohms is not in your future. If it's a 4 ohm cab it's almost certainly a pair of 8 ohm drivers in parallel, which limits your impedance choices to 4 or 16 ohms only.
Of course this also means that if you heard that it's possible to make an 8 ohm 2X15
4 ohms
you heard wrong.

Get two 4ohm 2x15s, run them in series, 8ohms, and more cabinets.
Sure, that's the expensive route, but when *don't* you need multiple cabinets?

Aye, the 4 ohm will have to do. I do have an Earth Sound Research 2x15 that is 8 ohms that I was hoping to run this together with, but I guess I'm just stuck with getting an extra 8 ohm 2x15 AND an extra 4 ohm 2x15.. Life is so hard sometimes
thanks for the info guys..

If your head can do 2ohms you can run them both at the same time.
8ohm cab + 4ohm cab (in parallel) will create a 2.666
ohm load.
