I accidentally put a 5751 in there and it seems to be working fine - wanted to make sure I wasn't setting up problems for the long run...

The 12AU7 slot in a 100S/1000S only drives the reverb. Since there is no control over the drive except the volume control, you might get premature clipping of the reverb drive signal but there should be no damage to the amp.
