New Member Says Hello!
« on: November 04, 2009, 11:54:51 pm »
Greetings to all fellow Sunn worshippers!
I'd never thought I'd say that!  Anyhow,  Now I'm not going to sell my Sunn alpha 112r (notice I wrote it in small letters just like on the amp!)  I'm tickled pink to find this site.  My alpha was my first big amp I owned and still do.  Before I had it I had a small amp with a tiny tube in it I believe.  I don't remember what it was.  My second amp I had was a Pignose!  After I blew up my second amp, I went and purchased a solid state Sunn (Everyone was into the tube sound in 1979 and I wanted to be different, I was a rebel in all the wrong stupid ways back then!).  These days I use it for bass.  I'm now a tube guy though!  I play small tube amps, mostly Fender. Does anyone know if Fender is still making Sunn Gear?  I know they own it now.  Perhaps I should ask that on a different post.  I'm sure I'll have more to add and ask later.  For now I just like to say I feel great that I ran into this forum! :-D
Here's my Gear:  Sunn alpha 112r, Fender Vibro Champ, Pro Junior, Blues Junior,Super Reverb, Vox AC4TV, Lil' Night Train, Blackstar HT-1,  Guitars: 2 Fender Strats, Telecaster, Squier Tele, Gibson LP Special SL, Epi SG Special, Fender P Bass, Kay SG.

Welcome.  You've found a great forum with a bunch of info and great/very helpful members.

Fender is not making Sunn anymore, unless something has changed very recently and I have not heard about it.

Add another welcome to the forum.  Agreed that to public knowledge, Fender is not making Sunn any longer.  8-)

Yo!! Sunnbody.  Welcome to the forum.  I too am relatively new here even though I'm an old Sunn user from waaaay back...got my first Sentura II in 1968.  Look at my Sentura II posts in the DIY section to see my latest project.
