A/B/Y switch
« on: April 06, 2010, 02:10:05 pm »
I'm trying to run a concert lead head through a 412 cab, and a beta lead combo at the same time. I'm using a stereo flanger to split the signal right now, but ideally I would like to be able to switch from having both amps on to just one.

Any recommendations? I've never used an ABY box and I'm kinda worried about adding noise to the signal or weakening my signal.

For those of you who use multiple amps at once, what is your method of choice? Is there any way to just connect the two amps to each other and plug into one of them?

Sorry if these are dumb questions!

I discussed this a bit in the Rigs of Doom thread, and wound up settling for a stereo pedal.  I've got both a Roland RE-20 and an EHX Stereo Memory Man w/ Hazarai.  Both are solid choices, but anything with a stereo output should do it.  Radial also makes a neat pedal, but I can't recall the name.

All that being said, a cheap ABY should work, but you could always modify it if need be?

is this what you were thinking of?

It's along those lines.  I recall it being larger, with more jacks.  I'll get in touch with my friend and ask him when I get the chance.  In any event, any radial product is solid.
