That's the ticket ya know.  List anything you have as a BuyNow for a truly incredible amount and if it doesn't sell for that, you at least have the satisfaction of stunning your peers and inflating your ego a bit.   BUT IF it gets that price, you go to craigslist and buy three more at last months price. Sell one, buy two, as long as momma isn't watching. Your Jones never ceases until the prices go beyond your reach and your forced to buy Fender.
60's- 70's were a blast 'till disco.  Hate to leave you Sunn.

@ mike_sims: The only difference is the early 70s models have a distortion control that late 70s red knob models do not.

@ Kolected: I've never seen a Concert Bass go for that much. Also the condition, is kinda ehh compared to my red knob Concert Bass and the reverb footswitch jack has been altered. On an early 70s Concert Bass it's covered, there they put some kind of 1/4'' jack.

I like the part where they describe the coupling/drive transformer as the output transformer,I'd be leary about taking my amp there to get fixed,Mel.

...well, maybe this is a very special prototype, using some delicat, "unmolested" divice for the phase shift...therefore he needs an underrated output transformer (?)  .....  :-D

that guy pulled the auction down early but theres a few beta series heads i just saw listed for $699.00!!!! hahahahac'mno class A tube heads are one thing but $699 for a 100watt solid state head just seems ridiculous to me. i own a perfectly functioning beta lead and beta bass... both bought for $150 to $200.00 ? whats up with this shit? and the guy that makes brand new sunn black on silver logos (1st gen. speakers and amps) for $30 a piece... shit my friend just made me one for my 4x15M build for 4 dollars silkscreened on aluminum... ebay sucks!

haha I KNEW that guy was making those logos! I asked him if he could make me a red 70's era sunn logo and he said "I don't make them, they're just ones I've collected, I'll see if I can find some red ones" haha, BS!

Unmolested except for the fact that the reverb footswitch cover, on the rear panel, was drilled out for a non-factory modification (DI output?). I'm sure it had an unmolested sound as well, from 36 years of aging electrolytics, dirty pots and leaky input FETs.

I'm surprised that FMC isn't going after that guy selling knock off logo plates. Opps!

Some people will try any kind of BS to try and upsell something.  It's unfortunate that there are a lot of people out there that don't know a lot about Sunn amps...and a guy like that is preying on them.
