Rat mods?
« on: January 26, 2011, 10:04:46 pm »
Has anyone here messed with modding Rat pedals?
I did the Ruetz trim pot mod and I think I like it so far.
On wikipedia, it mentions a crunch mod by removing a diode, but I can't actually find a diagram or picture to go by.
"Diode Removal: Removing one of the two silicon clipping diodes for a volume boost crunch tone."

This would work best if you wired a switch to one of the Diodes making it a toggle.

I don't think shibbz actually got the answer he was looking for...

And in all my searching I have not found an answer. You're best bet shibbz, seeing as how vaguely worded the mod is, get a stock schematic for your RAT, find the two silcone diodes and take one out.
