No, it's not a Y adapter. The Ric-O-Sound jack is a stereo jack, one pickup on the tip, one on the ring, and a single common for both. So you need a 1/4" stereo plug for the instrument, terminating in two mono plugs, one for each amp. I used to do it by running a stereo cord to a metal box with one stereo jack and two mono jacks, then regular guitar cord from the box to the amps. The Ric-O-Sound adapter, I think, is similar, with the stereo cord hardwired to the box.
