Sunn combo bass amp
« on: May 09, 2000, 07:39:00 am »
I found a Sunn combo bass amp (not a beta) with a
single 15 and the designation 200SB (or SB200- don't
remember now). it's solid state and looks to put out
about 200W, based on the output stage. any possibility
of finding a schematic, or at least specs on this little
beast?

thankx...

Hello Bill;
 The SB200 was a small combo amp produced in 1984. Only a couple hundred units were built before the Fender buy-out and they did not continue with production of that model. Fender should have schematics for it. I still own one. It uses the same power section as the SX series of powered mixers (with a smaller transformer). The only problem I found with it was that it was designed with a ground loop in the pre-amp section that makes it succeptable to radio stations and hum. Once fixed I liked the tone and power for small gigs. If you have any specific questions just e-mail me or post them on the BB.

If it's too loud, you're too old.

Don,

Just found the search function, so I see the SB200 has shown up before! (see my VERY recent posts). I'm thinking of buying one locally.  Interested in what you did to fix the ground loop you found.  If mine is susceptible, I'll fix it.
