SM-1 Module in the Tremelo Circuit
« on: June 14, 2012, 08:39:22 am »
Has anyone dissected a working SM-1 opto module to learn the specs of the bulb and the CdS cell? With some experimentation, it should be possible to create a replacement. I'm positive the bulb can be replaced, but the cell could be another matter.

Here's an interesting take on making one. http://taweber.powweb.com/store/opto_ind.htm

Seems to me that it shouldn't be necessary to duplicate the innards, only the characteristics. Recreating the innards might be the easiest way to do that, or maybe not.
