any special precautions in replacing speakers?
« on: February 04, 2002, 10:03:00 pm »
I just bought a new pair of Celestion Vintage 30's to see how they will sound in my cabinet.  I bought two 16 ohm speakers so when wired in parralel they equal 8 ohms.  Is there anything special I should do when installing them outside of screwing them in, and connecting the leaders.

I was informed I should use the "lit match" trick to make sure both speakers push out, any one have any other precautions I should take?

Thanks
Thanks

Howdy.  I'd just make sure the fasteners are torqued as evenly (equally?) as possible around the frame but not too tight -- you don't want the basket to warp causing other problems down the line.

Well, you could always use a torque wrench.

Always ensure your speakers are wired in phase.
Heads up, everybody!
