Reverb on Solarus
« on: May 02, 2002, 08:20:00 am »
I think the reverb on my solarus is malfunctioning, but i don't really use it much anyway and i just want to disconnect it.

Does anyone know if you can damage the head in anyway by playing it without the reverb tank connnected? it seems to sound a whole lot better to my ears when it's disconnected.

Also anyone know of a good inexpensive amp tech in the NYC area?

Thanks,
Joe

I would pull the 12AU7 reverb driver tube just as a safety precaution.  Chances are that it doesn't put out enough power to really damage the reverb driver transformer which would be running with an open/infinite secondary loading (tubes don't like that much)...

But why take the chance.
