rookie in need of some tube amp advice
« on: April 17, 2002, 01:54:00 am »
howdy. i am looking to switch over to tube amps after playing through a solid state ampeg for about 6 six years. the sunn amps sound great from what i have heard, but i really feel like a rookie. i play in a mathy rock and roll band called timber!, where the bass is actually the lead instrument...i am looking for a very warm, trebly tone. please email me at helicopterejectionseat@hotmail.com with any suggestions on a cab and head. from what i can tell, the 2000s seems to be the cream of the crop. what about running it through a 6x10 sunn cab? good idea? bad idea? if anyone has any comments, they would be greatly appreciated. thank.

2000S through a 6X10, I think, would sound rather cool.  A 300T through a 6X10, or a 4X10 and a 1X15, I think, would be end-of-the-world cool.  What bass?
Heads up, everybody!
