Sunn BASS sounds

Why is there so little examples of the sunn bass sound anywhere? I have scoured the web searching for just Bass sounds from Sunn amps coming up with zilch. Do you guys have your own recordings and settings you would be willing to share, or online links?

The 2nd Jimi Hendrix album Axis: Bold as Love is largely a Sunn bass amp that was used. Another example would be a fair bit of America's stuff. As far as youtube clips....not a lot out there I would guess. The Sunn tube bass amp sounds are cleaner and clearer than Ampeg's, but it gets a righteous distortion too...listen to pretty much any early Rush for examples as he used a Sunn 2000S on the bright pickup and an Ampeg SVT on the neck pickup of his Rickenbacker basses for a loooong time.

Sunn bass amps were prolific in the late 60's - mid 70's, you/we have probably heard thousands of Sunn bass amps on recordings without realizing it.

Look for Mountain live clips, always a good example of what tube Sunn bass amps sound like on "11"!

all the bass on this was recorded with a 1972 concert lead and a squire p bass (the one with the jazz pickup in the bridge) and a homebuilt 2x12. he runs the same head through an Earth sound research 4x12 now though.
