SPL 2212 - are the sends pre or post...
« on: June 07, 2015, 11:56:54 am »
Does anyone who has used an SPL 2212 know if the sends and returns on each channel are pre or post fader? Also, what about the reverb, is that sent on the send as well or where is the signal chain is the send?

Thanks in advance!!

They're both pre-fade. The reverb is it's own circuit, it's just in the same row as your Send and Aux controls for posterity. Because before onboard reverb you'd have a send knob normaled to your outboard reverb.

Thanks for the info! Do you know if it's pre or post EQ? What I am looking to do is track drums through the SPL and send each channel into my DAW from the channel sends. But I want to be able to track with the EQ and the reverb from the SPL. Is that possible using the channel sends or will I have to just send a stereo track out using the subs?

Thanks again!

The fader is post-EQ on each channel.

Hello,
All of the sends are jumper selectable on each channel circuit board. So the correct answer is it can be all of the above.

Hi Don!

I was curious if you could tell me more about the jumpers. I looked at each channel and I saw jumpers that were soldered in place and you could unsolder them and then solder back in pre or post for everything else. Post fader for effects, reverb, monitor, cue but no send. I couldn't find any jumpers on the channels anywhere that had anything to do with the sends. Are you familiar where they might be?

Thanks!!
Tim

Hello,
The channel sends are pre-EQ, basically right after the pre-amp gain stage. If you want FX it will have to be a stereo mix. If it were me I would track the mix AND the dry from each channel and deal with it in the mix.
