Vertical 4x12 PA cabs?
« on: February 11, 2016, 01:35:59 am »
Hello all!

So I have a lead on one of these and it still has the transducers in it. I have a 2x12 transducer cab I use with a Concert Lead that RULES, but I've never even seen one of these 4x12 things in the wild. I'm not sure if there were different speakers used for these since they were PA speakers or what. I plan on using this for guitar if I end up getting it, so I'm just wondering if any of you could shed some light as to whether that'd be a good idea or not. It's not a great deal in my mind, like $350 and a two hour round trip, but if I've got a sleeper here I guess I'll go ahead and bite.

Thanks in advance!

The PA cabinets tended to have lower cost / lower power speakers. $350 is too high for a pair, way too high for just one.

appredciated and pretty much how I felt. I guess the speakers were only like 40w? Thanks!

Maybe only 25. But consider that they were intended to be powered by a PA head that had at most 150w. Two 100w speakers would handle that easily.

I have and use 2 Sunn Towers and they are perfect for my tuned down guitar! they are my go to's for how I want my rig to sound.
