Actually, "restoring" is not the right word. A little back story: I've taken a stock 212LH from the late '70's and re-worked the front grill/faceplate to resemble the silver-face era cabinets with no faceplate section. Fairly straightforward carpentry, with almost no tolex work. I'll also swap the original Sunn 12's with 2 PMR bass speakers (freq resp 29hz - 4.25khz) This is all to finally achieve a 2 x 12" cab to pair with a '71 200S. I had a 2 x 12 cab custom ordered and paid for, but it never materialized. I even supplied the Fender Sunn tolex for it. After much back and forth w Reverb, I finally got the remaining tolex back, but no cabinet. Needless to say, I have no use for the cabinet maker, regardless of his standing in the business.
So since it's not actually a stock cabinet restoration, the period correctness is not critical, as long as it's a silverface bold font.
