I have an early 70's 215s magna cab. It has 2 JBL K-140 15" speakers in it. I also have a Sunn 300T amp/head. My question is - are these 2 pieces compatible. The cabinet is stamped 150 watts RMS, but I am thinking that these may not be the stock speakers as someone told me this cab originally may have been loaded with 2 15" Sunn Magna speakers (also I bought the cab along with a late 60's 200s head - 65 watts). I have used the 300T/215s set up for some shows and it sounds incredible - never having the need to turn the amp past 4-5. I just don't want to do any damage to the head or speakers. What is the actual wattage handling capacity for the vintage JBL K-140 15" speakers? Any thoughts anyone?

If memory serves correctly the k-140 is rated at 200Wrms/300Wmusic,
two of them suckers give you 400W rms- 600W music.
you should be way good to go.
Killer speaker for that Cab.

Yes, the Magna cabinet originally had Magna drivers. Fairly high power handling for the day, but the JBL's will handle more. I wouldn't worry about it. Play away! Just remember, if you hear distortion, then something is being pushed too far.
