Second Generation Model T Power Transformer
« on: October 28, 2002, 11:26:53 am »
I have a vintage Sunn Model T I bought a while back and I am finally getting around to working on it. I know from the guy I bought it from that the power transformer is bad and I have been looking for a replacement for a couple of months. Does anybody here know where I can find a decent replacement? I don't know enough about transformers or the circuit to select a suitable current production replacement. I would prefer a vintage one but that's not that important.

I am very glad I stumbled on this site because you all are every helpful and very informative. I have been hanging out at Ampage.org and learned a lot over there, as well. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Are you positive the x-former is fried, might be worth getting a second opinion.
I picked up my '70 1200s for $50.00 under the premise the PT was fried.
It was popping fuses, turned out the first cap was shorted.
The guy had taken it to 2 so called techs, both concurred the pt was fried.
I get so much nice gear that way.
