Fender Dual Showman 2x15 info?

hello. i´ve recently purchased a used 2x15 cab. it has jbl d140´s in it. has anyone some info on these cabs? especially wattage and ohms. i´m not sure, but i think it must be 8 ohms and about 100-120 watts. greets, thomas

Every Dual Showman Cab I have ever come across has had JBL D130F speakers.

The D140 is a slightly lower efficiency but built for BASS speaker, the low end goes deeper, the high end is reduced.  The D130 has a much brighter response with less low end... generally used with GUITAR.

Either version of the 15 inch JBL speaker can handle 100-120 watts RMS each, in the "F" version.  The later model "K" can handle more... don't quote me here as this is from memory... at least 150-200 watts RMS.

Pull the grille frame and pull out the 2 JBLs. If they are D140Fs, you're in luck! You can run these in parallel and show your amp 4 ohms. They will be quite loud and have a very nice, "Sunn amp" kind of tone. OIf they are 140-6, they are the 16 ohm versions. If they are D130Fs, they are the more efficiuent, brighter speakers that can't take as much bass as the D140s. If they are D15S speakers, they are basically D130s made for Sunn by JBL.

The guy from which i bought it told me the original name of the cab is Dual Showman rev D140. i don´t have the box right now, i´m waiting for it. i can tell you more when i got it. thanks for now. greets, thomas

there are 2 jbl d140F´s in it. sounds nice with the model-t head. it runs in parallel at 4 ohms. but haven´t found the wattage. maybe 100? i don´t know. it´s very loud and even with ear-protectives my ears hurt. nice thing! greets, thomas
