Hi- Longtime reader, First-time poster- I have a bizarre question that probably isn't worth asking, but I digress...

I play bass and I have a Sunn Concert Lead and an Acoustic 140 head- I like the sound of the Acoustic but it breaks up and distorts a little early; Is there any way to run these 2 heads in tandem to increase my wattage, or is that as ridiculous an idea as I think it is? I'm sure there are compatibility/ohm/etc issues that I'm not considering here, but I just wanted to throw that out there.
Thanks
AJP

AJ.........Are you running more than 1 speaker cabinet? Also.....but having nothing whatsoever to do with your question, what kind of a bass are you using with your rig?

Hey Rich-

Thanks for responding- Since my post I have been robbed of the Concert Lead and the possibilities of the unholy union have crumbled. I'm using a Sunn 2-15 cabinet and a crummy Fernandes with Fender Custom pickups- I'm looking to get a Coliseum or a more powerful Acoustic head, because the 140 into the 2-15 is not the sound I'm looking for- Sounds like a cross between a laser gun and a duck. Do you think the Concert Bass has enough headroom?

A cross between a laser gun and a duck??  Hmmmmm. Sounds to me as though you might be onto something good there. You just might become the next teen-idol.

And while I'm thinking of it, you don't actually have a "crummy" Fernandes. You have "A" Fernandes. It's probably a pretty cool piece and nobody said that you have to have the "coolest" or most expensive bass or guitar in order to enjoy making music, right? One of my favorite basses is my very first one. It doesn't have any name on it, cost me $79 NEW,..... and the thing has been through the wringer........but I still enjoy playing it.   :D

Headroom:  There seem to be a large number of Concert bass users in here. I, personally, am addicted to the 200S and the 2000S. I think that they were THE coolest bass amps ever created and so I'm a bit biased. I'd recommend that you pick up/borrow a Concert bass for a couple of gigs and see if it delivers the sound that you really enjoy.  Remember, cranking up the "low/bass" control knob all the way tends to cut down on the perceived output of the amp because it has to work harder to reproduce frequencies that are so far down,........so try to run the amp fairly flat and let the sound of your bass do the talkin'. I'm sure that we'll all be interested to hear how you make out.
