New question.
One of my 6550 tubes is blowing much brighter (there's even some spots glowing a beautiful shade of blue) than the rest in my 300T. I am betting it's about to go out and am thinking in terms of replacement. In my Model T, the previous owner put on EL34's and it sounds great (I used it as my bass head for a long while)... I believe he had to ground two of the pins (1st and 8th?) and I was wondering if the same mod could be applied to my 300T. Would the same pins need grounding?
btw, my head is still clicking (sounds like a geiger counter for chrissakes) so I am taking it in for service.
I love my 300T but man is it $sucking up all my money.
