Anyone interested in a SUNN t-shirt?
« on: February 10, 2003, 07:20:26 pm »
I was thinking about making up a batch of Sunn logo shirts with a friend of mine who is a professional screen printer--can I get a show of hands who would be interested in buying one?  I was thinking maybe 30 or so to start with--it would be nice to get them out to hardcore Sunn fans first through this great website I think.

In other news, I picked up a Concert Lead for $170 (!!!) last week and I'm getting a 410S this weekend--it's a good time to be on the prowl for Sunn gear around here!  I found an old post where someone said the 410S was rated for 160 watts and I was hoping someone could confirm this for me--thanks.

I'd pay up to $15 for one - black  XXL
I enjoy old Sunn stuff, tube and solid state, I have a Concert Bass, Concert slave, 1200s (4X6550, dual rectifier) Concert PA, Studio PA, and an old Acoustic 360 2X15 cab but with Sunn Speakers)

Rock On!!

OK, so I see this great idea for T-shirts. It's a great idea!! Should I remind Ryan that the SUNN logo and name are registered trademarks and are owned by the Fender Musical Instrument Corporation, or should I say nothing and hope that nobody gets in trouble for doing it. I guess that I'd have to think about that for a bit.  :(

When I first registered and set up sunnamplifiers.com fender didn't give me any flack for it. Also, there are a few bands that have used the Sunn logo on T-Shirts (along with their band name) as well. I'm sure it'll be ok if someone wants to make a few t-shirts. As long as they don't claim its officially licensed or anything they should be ok...

Don't misunderstand, I'd be the first in line for a Sunn "anything" and I'm in full favor of the idea.. Having worked for FMIC for 14 years (I no longer do) I can only say what my heart tells me is the right thing to do, however.............and if it were me, I'd drop a note to Ritchie Fliegler in Scottsdale and ask permission rather than risk getting a cease and desist order from a court.  :o

Thanks for the input, Rich, but I'm not gonna sweat the legalities of printing up a couple dozen shirts at home--hey, it's not like I'm cooking up crystal meth in my kitchen or downloading Metallica songs off the internet...you know, REAL crimes!  Thanks to everyone who's raised a *hand*--I'm thinking about doing some t-shirts and maybe some longsleeves with different designs and possibly different colors on each.  I'll keep everyone posted on here--I'd ideally like to get these done within the next month or so.

Also Rich, could you possibly email me the jpg for the black and white Sunn logo you have flashing on your Sunn Shack page?  I copied it but I guess because of the flash I didn't get the two outside semi-circles on the far right when I printed it.  Otherwise the size was perfect and would save me some time--thanks, and I won't rat you out when the copyright cops kick down my door!  rebelsound@athenet.net
