beta bass blow up
« on: April 04, 2001, 11:48:00 am »
Hey -
At the risk of asking a stupid question - does anyone know why my trusted beta bass head that I've been playing guitar through for, oh, about 20 years would now start blowing fuses.  So far as I know the first fuse lasted 20 years, the second one about two days.  I pulled the guitar cable jack out of the input with the amp on and pfft.

It shocked the hell out of me too.  But that could've been because of the other gear I had plugged in and was touching at the same time.

First thing to do is get a schematic ( found here on this site ) and go to the power supply portion, most of the troouble with blowing fuses is usually a shorted output transistor ( or more than one ) or a power supply problem  Good luck
