I play the guitar and just recently bought a American Fender P bass and I want a good sounding amp to play it through but I am not shure witch Sunn bass amp would be good for me, It will need to be loud eneough to play with my band when we practice or gig.
I would like a vintaged amp like the Concert bass or Coliseum bass, I have heard that the 300 T is real nice but is $$$
"Mr. T"
I see you also play Guitar, and I play both Bass & Guitar. I have a 2000S head which I've used for both Guitar & Bass, and I have been using my 2000S head mostly as a Guitar head. I have a home made pedalboard, (Which consist mainly of "Fulltone" effects pedals) so I want something that maintains a warm, fat, & round sound, which the 2000S head does and is clean, but has character, and if I need a little more gain, I use my pedals for the sustain and drive sound. I use a Mesa/Boogie 4x12 with Vintage 30's and with out any of the pedals on, I push the Volume on the amp, and I get a guitar sound very similar to Joe Waslh, when he was in "The James Gang" and also sound similar to some of the "Lynyrd Synyrd" tracks! I also like this Amp for it's simplicity, which makes it an all around great amp for Everyone!
I also use it to run my pedalboard in stereo, with a Fender HotRod Deville, and the guitar tone comes through intacted, and not hidden or disguised by the effects. Power wise, I cannot see me using all the Volume on it, say in a Club venue. It's a punchy, warm, fat, and a very round sounding amp, perhaps that's because of the Quartet of 6550's, and the 2 large rectifier transformer's. This is what al amps should sound like. (I would however like to tryout a Model "T")
I hope this has helped with your Quest?
