beta bass blowing power amp fuse
« on: March 26, 2003, 09:03:20 pm »
the amp has been blowing fuses since it shorted out by a loose curcuit board screw. on the power amp board, i found a burned transistor (10), and replaced it. one filter cap was bad, so i replaced both.
fired the amp up, with the cover off and watched one of the 6 amp fuses blow. replaced it with a 7 amp (all i had around) and the second 6 amp fuse blew. i'm stumped.

Hello:
Check all of your TO3 transistors for faults. Also check the shunt diodes. There are 2 (4004?) diodes that are connected between the power + - supply and the output. A short could have reversed biased them.
