Impedence on Sunn Coliseum Cab 6 X 10"
« on: March 14, 2001, 07:10:00 am »
Without opening up the back of this bad boy (Sunn Coliseum 6 x 10" Cabinet) that I bought used a while back, can anyone tell me the impedence on this cab. I just purchased a head with a 4 ohm minimum and don't want to fry it out if the cab happens to be at something funky like 2 ohms (I would imagine that it would be higher than that, but I don't want to take a chance). Does anyone know off the top of their heads?

Thanks in advnace,

Peter

Measure it with an ohmeter, measured dc resistance with be a tad lower than the impedance. IE; an 8 ohm speaker will usually measure between 6.5 to 7.5 ohms.

I've seen them in both 8 AND 16 ohms. I'm not sure if this was a running change or one that was a freak of SUNN-ture.
