I have a late 60's or early 70's Sunn Coliseum Bass 1-18 cabinet. It has the original speaker in it, and I want to know its power handling. I run an Acoustic 370 amp head into it, and it seems to brutalize the speaker at about volume level 4.
Even the power "burp" pushes it really violently when I turn the amp on. Is it time for me to get a new, heftier 18? If anyone has catalogs with this particular cabinet, please provide me with the necessary info! (By the way, the back of the speaker reads: "Vega Associates, model #0188 if that helps).
