SUNN 2000S SPEAKER ENCLOSURE
« on: July 21, 2003, 08:04:59 pm »
I have been keeping an eye out for one for over two years now.  Seems to be one of the rarest pieces of musical equipment out there.  Is it like the unicorn, or has someone actually seen one recently?

Thought so. Pretty rare. Sunn made those mainly for the pro market, recognizing that your everyday player wouldn't have room for such a beast, nor want to move it. They were available, of course, but most regular players went for the 200S, and they're about as rare as hen's teeth, too.

The rhythm player in my band has two of the guitar model. Everything's the same except it has D130's. Pretty much pristine condition.

Bill, if it's not too much trouble could you put a picture of the back of the amp?  I would like a look at the transformers.  Thanks

The front grille is perfect, and kinda a funny story about how I got it... I work in Manhattan, and some guy in the office next door had it there as kinda an end table sorta thing, and then decided he needed the room so knowing I was a musician, he asked me if I wanted it.  I said sure, not knowing what model it was and asked how much?  He said just take it, I would hate to put it out for the garbage men.  With that I waked it down the WestSide highway, and got a cab to Penn Station, and walked it down the stairs to the platform ( should have seen the looks I got ) and promtlygot on a train home.  Damn that thing is heavy.  I would bet it is probably 150 lbs.
