In addition to the pot date codes, if you don't want to tear the chassis outside of the head, you might be able to see the date codes on the power and output transformers.

If the amp has the mid switch, it was made 1976 or later.  Without the switch, it was made before.

mine has a mids-switch and was built ´74. that´s what the inspection tag says. maybe the second generation wasn´t that successful as a guitar amp, but i use and like mine as one. depends on cab and style, but i think it´s a fine, LOUD guitar amp with a little variety of sounds as well as other more "popular" tube-heads in that watt-range. for me it´s just versatility. cheers

Guest... if you truly have a 1974 Model T with the mid switch, then you must have one of the earliest ones made.  I bought one new in December 1974 and there wasn't even the mention of a mid switch.  The mid switch didn't appear advertisement wise until sometime mid to late 1975.  By 1976, the Model T definitely had the mid switch.

How about giving us the date codes off the transformers.

Oh... and the serial number.  I'd love to compare it with mine which is a definite 1976 model.

Thanks!!

Mine is dated 11/8/74 on the inspection sticker.  Serial is 49661.  No mid switch.

Does anyone know if Led Zepplin used Sunn amps? My Model T has an interesting engraving on the back panel - Zoso and an additional serial number?? Anyone know how to authenticate this kind of thing?? Any help would be great.

guest - i do believe that jimmy page used sunn gear here and there when he wasnt under endorsement contract with marshall (studio.) i would venture to guess this is why alot of his studio tracks sound so much like a Sunn.

Fucking hell. Does it look like an official engaving or something that a fan has done? You might have Jimmy's amp.

Both the first and second generation Model Ts (with 6550 power amp tubes) are rated at 150 watts RMS.  The Fender version (with 6L6GC power amp tubes) is rated at 100 watts RMS.
