Sunn M400 Microphone
« on: October 24, 2003, 12:44:26 pm »
I came upon a Sunn M400 mic for sale.  I will be recording electric guitar (through a solos II combo & beta lead w/ 610s cab + 412 enforcer cab) and then drums with overhead and bass drum mics. I have a Shure SM57 right now, and I'm looking to pick up a few more mics to fill out this setup (and I'm always looking to grab any Sunn gear anyway, out of principle). So, the questions:

1. Do you think this mic would work for these purposes?

2. What kind of frequency response are we looking at?

3. In an old post, Don T. said it has "the highest rejection of any hypercardiod" that he's seen.  What does this mean for me?

4. What's a decent price?

5. And can I get a copy of that brochure if anyone has one?

Thanks immensely for any information you can provide!
