JBL D 140F Speakers

Anyone an expert on these speakers that were used in the 2000S cabinets?  Some are stamped with a K, some are D 140F-6, some are 8 ohm, some are 16 ohm.  Are there really any differences beside the obvious, or are they really all the same?  Do you know what the D and -6 represent?

I'm not an expert, but I know of no significant differences beyond impedance.

D stands for the JBL series. The "E" series then "K" series came later. The higher the letter, the more power the speaker could handle. The -6 stands for 16 ohms. -8 stands for 8 ohms.

Does anyone know which D140 speakers would have come in the late 60's 200S cabinets? 8 ohm or 16 ohm? Thanks!

Sunn usually used the 8 ohm versions. When there was going to be more then two drivers in a cabinet, they sometimes would use 16 ohm versions to avoid geeting a total impedance that was too low.
It depends, of course, on your cabinets, heads, and how you wire the drivers.
