"P" and "S"

Can some one tell me what "P" and "S" stand for on the Beta footswitch schematics? I'm building a Beta IV footswitch and I'd like to have this clarified. (power and signal? power and switching?) I'm trying to collect as many notes on this circuit as possible. I still need a component layout for this switch, too.

Hello:
I found the diagram confusing. I wish I had one here to check the power coming out of the Beta connector. Unless there is neg potential at the connector the diodes are backwards. I am not sure what P & S mean unless it refers to something on the Beta chassis. I will look at the Beta and footswitch schematics again.
