Concert Slave with a Beta Bass?
« on: June 17, 2004, 05:44:27 pm »
What's the best way to hook up the Sunn Concert Slave and my Beta Bass  to  my 4-15's and 1-18 cab's? I am not sure how to go about that. Any help would be great. I also have 4-12's that I could use too I you can tell me how. I want to hurt people badly. Thanks alot......THE ROLLER)))

Ok this thread is soooooo old but I was about to ask the exact same question and it never been answered so let's shake the dust on this lost thread... :-D

without specifying the cab used,

Can I use a Beta Bass amp feeding a cab while sending it's Master line out (send) to Concert Slave line in to feed a 2nd cab...?

don't know if I'm clear enough...? :|

I'll second that bump, I have a line on a concert slave that I can pick up for (at the most) $100 & also have a beta bass & 4x15's etc... So what's the verdict, I'm guessing yes, right??

I think as long as everything is hook up in line level it's good.
the cab(s) would plug on the coliseum slave speaker out.
but I would like to have opinion from beta, concert, coliseum user's...

I'm checkin a Beta Bass and a Coliseum Slave! that would make a 320w Beta Bass rig!

Thinking more about it
I could send the beta speaker out to a cab and master line out to the slave and get 420w beta bass goodness .

nice! thinking about using this for the bass dirt tone and Sonaro for clean tone...always wanted to mess with those sunn solidstate series...the Monarch bassist told me good things about the concert bass, his preferred amp for super heavy sludge doom. :-D

You'd appreciate the Pre's on the Beta's more, I think.
The Concert Series are great for what they are, but more often than not I just use them as slaves anymore (so it's like I have 2 Beta Heads).

Also in my experience I've gotten more power out of the Beta's.
Never ran my Concert Bass @ 2 ohms though, only 4.

Also, you'd have to plug the Master Line Out to the Power Amp In (considering its a Coliseum or Concert) on the Slave

yeah the concert bass is used for a good heavy clean tone that you put a good dirt in front, in my case I would use the beta instead of a dirt pedal...maybe I'll get a punchier dirt with this?

Hey, I just picked up that Concert Slave & thought I would share. I went ahead and paid $100 for it & decided not to haggle the price, it was fair enough  :-D

This is very nice, and the price is excellent.

The slave coliseum I'm getting locally is 275$, but I know it's been bought over eBay and shipped from St- louis...so even that price is lower then what the owner paid for it.
The unit looks mint and is a red knob coliseum which I like the look better hehe.

to lighten your deception, the coliseum slave is posted in Montreal, what I meant is that it was bought/shipped from St-Louis years ago...not lately.

I'm going to pick it up this afternoon and try to feed it with the Model T line out and use the two 2x15 from my bass rig with it...since my bassist is gone for summer! heavy!
