Beta Bass footswitch needed
« on: January 08, 2001, 12:44:00 pm »
Hi-

My bass player has a Beta Bass, and I'd love to build him a footswitch.  Only problem is, I don't know what that connector is on the back (i.e. where I'd get a plug), and I don't know how to wire it and what it would do!

Can anyone give me any info/advice?  Thanks!

Hello:
The footswitch schematic is on this site under "schematics". The Beta service manual is also downloadable. As for the plug, it was a comon connector at the time produced by AMP I believe.

If it's too loud, you're too old.

Ok, thanks.  I browsed the list but it was somewhat hard to read, the dark blue on dark graphics...  Took me a minute, but I found it...

When we get new grill cloth for this Beta Bass I'll snap a shot of it and mail it to whoever it would go to.

If I can't find the connector, it looks like I could just pull it out and put an XLR jack in its place, then wire the footswitch with the same connector.  Looks like an XLR anyway, just with four pins...  Guess it's time to start hunting.

thanks-
