300T service manual available online/email anywhere?
« on: January 27, 2005, 03:06:26 am »
my 300T keeps popping fuses in the middle tube set. first time it did it i figured a tube was bad, so i retubed, rebiased, replaced the fuse, and played for about a couple of days before it started blowing fuses again. now i'm not sure if my original or replacement set of tubes is any good, or where the problem lies, but fender is no help. the service manual would be a huge assist, since i can't afford to take it to anyone right now.

thanks, brian

This is only the owner's manual, not the service manual, but it might help.

thanks for the link to the service manual info, i couldn't find that on the site. i have the owner's manual but it doesn't talk about servicing.

it's bogus that they're charging for the 300T service manual and schematic. they claim they're only doing that with products that "predate formatting that would let them put the file online." but the 300T came out in like '97 or something.

plus it sounds like they're charging $5 each for the schematic and service manual. i have no idea why they wouldn't be included together, except that fender not only doesn't want to support this product, they want to make it difficult to service the product so you just give up and buy something new. this is the problem with big business, even when the business is ostensibly something good for people, like music.

Yeah, that's pretty much the way things go. They may well want you to buy a Bassman 300, which i understand it the same amp, rebadged when Fender dropped the Sunn line again. You might be able to find a manual for that.
