which ohm selection to use?

hi all,
I have a fender made sunn model T.  on the back it has two jacks. one for the main speaker and one for the external.  then it has an ohm selector 4, 8, or 16 ohms.  I have two marshall 1960 model stereo cabs.  If I set each cab to mono and plug the cable in the 16 ohm side on each cab, then do I set the amp to 8 or 16 ohms?  thanks.

two 16 ohm cabs ran in parallel will be an 8 ohm load. I have a '74 Model T and i run two 16 ohm cabs, I set my amp to 8 ohms.
