Question about using a Model T and a Coliseum Slave

I have a '74 Model T and was thinking of getting a Coliseum Slave to run with it. I have a '04 Matamp Black 4x12 (400 watts at 16 ohms) and a '72 Sunn 215S (1200 watts at 16 ohms, I put some Carvin PS15C's in it), so I set my head to 8 ohms. How would I hook the Model T and the Coliseum Slave together and where do I hook up the cabs? Do I keep my Model T set at 8 ohms? I have never dealt with slaves, so excuse my ignorance on the subject. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

-- from my knowledge of using sunn heads (beta lead and a coliseum slave), keep the ohms of each head close to the cab, but not above (amp<cab)... run a line from the pre-amp "out" of the model t into the "in" of the slave. each head runs a cab, 8 ohm heads to 16 ohm cabs should work great... always has for me!

-- yer model t will run at peak ohms though WITHOUT the slave... 8ohm head into two 16 ohm cabs... that is the best use of power (as far as i know).

-- Interesting, I have no idea... I always used slaves because I run three cabs: 1 8x12 and 2 4x12s. Without two amps, I can't run them all and have the ohms make sense. Your situation doesn't seem to call for both amps, though it is "cool" to use more stuff, I always think. Plus, you get different tones from different amps. Yu might post your new question, because there have to be other nerds on here, most will know more than me I am sure. This is a great forum, when people actually post and don't only read.

it's not hard to do, but you need to do it right.  Each amp must have its own cab.  The coliseum wants a 2 ohm load, but will tolerate a 4 ohm load putting out a little less power (320 watts at 2 ohms, around 225-250 into 4 ohms).

Use the di out on the back of the T (I assume it is an old one, if it's a "reissue" I don't know if it has a di out) with a shielded cable to the input of the slave.  Use the impedance selector on the T to match the cabinet impedance.

This will be really loud--prepare yourself and your neighborhood.

-- ahhhh, interesting. but why is the "di" a louder/more true send... or is it the same as the "preamp out"?
