sunn beta filter cap question
« on: March 22, 2005, 07:27:28 pm »
hey i just bought a beta lead that has some funky filter caps in it.
One is 4700 mirophared and I can't tell what the other one is.

The spec sheet says the filter caps should be 3000 @ 50v
I purchased a new pair of 3300 @ 50v

will these new ones work?

thanks

Hello:
The 4700 mf caps were the ones out of the SA 20-21 and Colisium 300 amps. Personally I liked the higher capacitance cuz' it gave the amp better clipping characteristics. They were probably substituted during a production run when the 3300 ran short. i think I still have some NOS filter caps.

Hi Don,
These NOS caps you have, are they 4700mf?

Feel free to PM me if you are interested in selling them.
Thanks

John

Hello:
Heck just buy a new pair of 4700mf caps. Available at your local Radio Shack, Radar or United Radio store.
