coliseum problem
« on: July 14, 2005, 03:24:17 pm »
I recently bought a coliseum slave (the 300 watt one with the vu meter in the front) and I have question about how to run it.   I am assuming that you only use a preamp signal to be amplified when you use this amp.
heres the problem- when I use a preamp signal, there is hardly any sound at all. However, and I know you're not supposed to do this, when I use the speaker out from my main amp to the input on the slave, it is super loud.  just wondering if there is any simple fix for this or if I am looking at an expensive visit to the amp guy.

anything would help -thanks

I know this is silly, but have you tried turning the attenuator down (volume up)?

My best guess is that there must be a mismatch between the two pieces of equipment, such that the slave requires a much higher signal to reach full output than the amp is putting out. Those specs should be in the spec sheets for the respective equipment, if you can find them.
