concert lead ohms / specs ?
« on: January 03, 2006, 03:03:56 pm »
I was wondering if someone could tell me a little about the concert lead amp.  Mine has the red switches and red on the end of the knobs. On the back for the two speaker outs it says, “Max output power 200w class 2 wiring maybe used”
I wanted to know.
1. Around what year is this head from? I can find the years for the silver kind but not the red.
2. Is the output out of one of the speaker jacks 200w or 100w?
3. What is the ohms?
4. Does that class 2 wiring mean something other than a regular speaker cable?
here are some pictures

Not quite sure about the year... I'm thinking the single channel was introduced around 1976.

2. Is the output out of one of the speaker jacks 200w or 100w?

The output jacks are wired in parallel.  If you only use one at 4 ohms you will get the full 200w output.

3. What is the ohms?

4 ohms. - minimum.  More than 4 ohms will reduce the max output.

4. Does that class 2 wiring mean something other than a regular speaker cable?

No... not really.  Class 2 wiring is like common zip... or lamp cord.  I use 16 guage for a minimum.
