help with beta lead

i recently bought a beta lead from ebay.  i get it and it wont play unless the bass is cranked to ten anc the same with the drive the second channel is pretty much non functional.  what needs to be done?  does it need to be rewired orjust newpots?
sorry for horrible spelling..on my wii.

I would try cleaning the pots out first... start easy.  You can get a spray can of cleaner from Radio Shack or your local electronics supply store.

The service manual is on this site, here, and it should help you.  Try to look for things that don't belong - any burn marks on the boards, loose wires or components, etc.

Hopefully the culprit is just dirty pots.
