Sunn Sonic I head & how to make it "more" guitar friendly
« on: February 03, 2007, 12:34:10 pm »
Hello, I'm new here.  I just got a Sunn Sonic I Amp head.  I use it with two Eminence Red Fangs.  It sounds great!  I work on amps though I'm pretty green at it.  I'd like to reduce the compression just a little so it would be just a little more open.  I'd also like to take off some of the highs that seem to burn through.  Don't get me wrong, this sounds amazing but I always like to improve.

Also any other ideas that would make the amp more guitar friendly.  I know it was a universal type amp but still looking to do some improvements to move away from strict bass amp charachteristics.

Altering the feedback?? Messing with some of those caps in the preamp section ie. the .0075 and .002.  Would they affect the highs?  Please any tips would be appreciated.
