2x15" and 610s Cab Speaker Help
« on: March 31, 2007, 12:39:50 pm »
Wondering if someone might be able to help.  I have an on sunn 2x15" cab.  When I got it, there was no plate on the back telling me exactly what type of cab it was.  The speakers inside were the sunn 15" guitar transducers that blew out a while back.  I recently replaced these with some cheap Eminence 15" Beta 350 watt 8 ohm speakers.  I'm playing a 70's 1200s through this and when turned up to about 9, everything starts to break up and fade in and out.  Anyone know if this is due to the speakers not being able to handle this or because of the wiring or something?  I have these speakers in a Fender bassman 2x15" cab and have no problems playing the 1200s through them.

I also have a 610s sunn cab set up at 6 ohms.  The power coming out the cab is not much at  all compared to my other cabs.  Any suggestions as to what can be done to fix this?  I know nothing about ohms, but without it being matched ohm wise to my heads, would it need rewiring?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

If you have a 1200S turned up to 9, it's probably your hearing or your consciousness fading in and out!
